This is a relatively new vineyard for Michel which he took over from a family member. It's 300 metres down the hill from Les Follasses with very complex soils that change every 50 metres or so - a mix of limestone and different types of marl but mainly grey marl. The 40+ year old vines are a massale selection of old Jura Chardonnay. It is, says Michel, very difficult to work because it becomes very hard when dry and sticky when it is wet. The wine is intensely savoury and leans to leanness rather than the opulent richness you see in the Les Crêts. This wine is topped up during its aging.
